Hi guys new to the forum.
Bought my first auto accord euro cl9 2007. Not getting much kms from the tank and feel the mechanic of the previous owner didnt use top quality engine oil as well as the previous owner filling up caltex fuel weekly.

Just want to ask what engine oil (10w/30, 0w/30 etc) do you guys recommend for the CL9 heading out of summer weather?
Obviously I'll have to buy fully synthetic and I'd want engine oil which is a mix beneficial for performance and fuel economy.

I filled up shell vpower on my first full tank of petrol and only got 450km until the reserve light came on, I've read online i should be getting 500-600km on city driving, i don't do highway driving it's mainly home to city driving for work 5-6 days a week.. (mainly granny driving)
So would i be right to suggest replacing the o2 sensor?
If so, do I have to buy more than one sensor and what is the part number/s for when i visit the local honda dealership at essendon?
Roughly price wise how much are they?

Thanks guys!

u mad?

Any brand name full synthetic 10w40 will be fine, nulon, penrite ect..

I'd change your trans oil as well while you're at it.

As for fuel consumption, i'd check plugs also. Check tyre pressures as well as this can dramatically effect fuel consumption. Honda are going to rape you with oem o2 sensor, buy online from usa, from memory 130usd. You only will need primary o2 sensor, don't worry about secondary.

I'd finish off the new tank first, see how many km and how many litres to fill back up, then you'll know if there really is an issue.

5w30 or 5w40 or 0w30 or 0w40 <--- You can use any of those all year around.

As to fuel economy. When was the last time the spark plug were replaced?

I replaced the primary o2 sensor at 160k km. At a cost of 150 dollars for a non honda aftermarket part and saw an immediate improvement in engine pickup.

I also cleaned the intake system with a de-carb, those accord engines gunk up pretty bad, especially with thicker oil at start up for some reason

- what are the oil brands you prefer fredoops?
- the spark plugs were replaced week prior to purchasing the vehicle in late jan (roughly 104,000km)
- what brand / site did you purchase the o2 sensor from?

Penrite Racing/HPR5/Premium 0 are what I've been using
also Valvoline Synpower (5w40), Nulon I've heard were good too.

Sweet thanks will look at purchasing Penrite Racing HPR5 from supercheap or autobarn or repco this weekend whichever one is cheaper.

They're iridium plugs.

Do you know the part no for the walker oxygen sensor?
