man, waste of money in my opinion, itll make your car sound faster but go slower. i have one (came with my car) and i found it is the best set on where mr honda originally wanted.

On The Spot...

Even Mags like Hot Fours agreed that the best efficiency in the VTEC points are still the ones set from Factory..

Having tuned a fair bit of Hondas by my Tuner, including my car, it has been found that the factory set VTEC points are more efficient. I have been playing around with the VTEC settings on my car and found that the factory settings are the best... Unless you want to set a different point and spend heaps of time mucking around each point in the A/F ratio.....

Changing the Vtec point on some engines both higher or lower can increase power by a very large factor, if you provide the correct fuel and ignition to support the early or late vtec change, and in the case of K engines cam angle as well.
Typically those if the car is almost fully stock there is no need to change the cross over point, slightly modified cars normally +- 400rpm or so from stock, and heavily modified car’s can vary heaps. This at least stands true for B H F and D engines. With the Honda K engine even stock form lowery the vtec point by 2000 or more RPM gives huge gains….. but once you make the engine breath better with a nice set of headers you increase the point from stock.. at the end of the day it all comes down to your car your modifications and the ability to how you can have your car tuned.

Unless you have changed camshafts there is no need to touch your vtec cutin point, i think that the millions that honda spent developing vtec that the engineers would have figured out where the best vtec cutin point should be, i have seen countless hondas run better with stock camshafts and stock vtec rather than an altered version.

Meh an more meh.. Honda Use VTEC to help control Emissions.. Vtec is nuffing more than a Emission device .. less emissions out of vtec.. more emissions in vtec..... Vtec is not about Power to Honda… its about the Environment !!!Tuned correctly you can generate much more power than Honda ever dreamed of.. if you have complete control of the engine absolutely… something a basic controller will never do…. Iv done this 100’s of times now on 100’s of Honda’s iv tuned around Australia… there’s power to be gained !!! its just knowing how to gain it.

blkcrx advise is good. don't waste your time and cash on a controller. nothing like getting a proper tune imo
