Hey all:wave:

My cu2 just recently started to play up on me.

When i accelerate pass the 3-5k revs, the whole car begin to shake and once it passes 5k it drives normal. It doesn't do this on 1st gear. Mainly 2,3,4 gear. Checked the engine mount, seem to be all good no cracks. Chcked the contol arm and swaybar bushing they all good too. I dont know why it does this or where its actually coming from.

Can any you guys shed some light to this issue???

Cheers.;)

Does it do it when static , and revving the same revs in neutral ?

Might also be a coincidence , but you might need a wheel balance

Hi mate

No it doesnt.

If its from the wheel balance wouldnt it shakes through out the whole acceleration?i might still give that a go tho.

Thanks mate for your help.
Much appreciated

Usually wheel balance issue affect cars at certain speed.
Can you please describe the shaking sensation? Is it vibration through the steering wheel, rattle, clicking noise (CV joint)?
Has the car been unused for a long time (flat spot on tyres)?

Could be inner CV joint as well. Mine (CL9) vibrated at 55 km/h and 110 km/h under acceleration. At those same speeds, if I was just coasting without pressing the accelerator, it was smooth as a baby's bottom.

Inner CV joint seems to be common for the accord.
Did you replace the CV joint with a new aftermarket unit aaronng?

I replaced the entire driveshaft with aftermarket units. The vibrations disappeared but I started getting a knocking noise when accelerating/decelerating in a straight line (as if from a worn outer CV joint when turning under acceleration), but turned out to be my worn engine mounts causing my torque damper to knock at the limit. Changed the engine mounts as well and all was good. Mine is a 2004.

Hi Martin

No vibration from the steering wheel. Car feel like it wobbles a bit then drive fine passed 5k revs. No clicks, clunks, knocks. Its been driven as a daily. But i have noticed when i try turning the left front wheel by hand it doesnt move as freely as the right wheels. I took the brake pads off and try to turn it and still pretty stiff. It could be the cv??

I am trying to understand the wobble.
So the car wobbles a bit in 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear from 3k to 5k. So the car wobbles nearly continuously from 30 km/h to about 90 km/h. This happens in all road condition not just on a stretch of uneven road. Is the wobble the same when going down hill?

I think your observation in turning the wheels by hand is OK as the steering wheel/rack is on the right side.

Have you asked the opinion of a car mechanic?
