Bought this 2000 model ek1 for the wife who loves the automatic life. the car needs a few things fixed up but over all was a good deal.
Current issues;
SRS light- I haggled the price down a bit based on this but ofcause EK1 without passenger airbags run a dummy resistor which commonly fail, I've checked the code (2-2) and the resistor is on order.
Valve cover gasket- part arived yesterday.
Paints not perfect- rattle can action to follow
Should be back on the road soon

I paid $700 for it which is quite reasonable, it needs a bit but it will be a good running registered car for like $1100

When rattle canning it use a quality brand such as Rustoleum...
Exports tend to fade in the sun quickly and go crap.. They also don't cover as well as more expensive brands and tend to be runnier.

It's all G m8y I've painted cars before.
On the plus side my valve cover gasket, dizzy o ring and dummy resistor showed up. Problems are;
A. Have to fix a heaps fuked Mazda first
B. One of the fantastic D series valve cover bolts is snapped in the head... Not so good. But should be aiight

So I have cleared the srs light and changed the dummy resistor. Sorted the valve cover gasket leak and dizzy o ring.
One of the valve cover bolts was snapped in the head but a quick drill n easy out sorted that.
I'm now gonna give it a service and clean up ready for rego.
