hi
i have a gen5 prelude
when i cold start it, leave it for 30 secs, switch it off, switch it back on; when i open the radiator cap, it bubbles violently.

not sure if its related, but when i switch on the heater, the temp rises to H and the car shuts off

Link wont work..probably the phone. .

if it's air, park on a hill, engine upwards.start it,open the radiator cap and the air will rise and escape, squeeze the radiator hoses to assist it out. 10 minutes in your case to make sure it's all out. If bottom radiator hose isn't hot like the other hoses,u got a stuck thermostat.

Easy try this
park the car on a flat level surface.
From dead cold - take off rad cap , top up if need be - push fan to HOT - start car. Let idle until the thermostat opens and rad fan goes off TWICE. You should notice the rad level at the top drop when this happens...make sure to top up as it drops. Once it's been twice , turn off motor top up coolant level and put cap back on. Be careful as the coolant will be a touch hot.

See if that helps

after some research, i think its a blown head gasket
white smelly smoke is emitting from the exhaust and the radiator fluid just disappears :(

can anyone vouch for someone reliable to change it for me in S.E MELB?
