The Honda Civic has long been known as a nimble, sprightly and formidable foe that is both easy to get around a track and especially manageable on the road.
But by far and away, the Civic’s major catch cry comes in the form of its incredible reliability. Honda enthusiasts love them for good reason – because they are so simple, so cheap, and so outwardly bulletproof.

In a sense, because these cars are so straightforward to play with, Honda Tuners have kicked out so many different variations of power kits and modifications, that one could quite literally have a different variation for every day of the month. And you’d likely never revisit the same tuner again because the car, so bulletproof as they are, would rarely to never break down.
Definitely an avenue of cheap fun. But one that still needs the right kind of care particularly when it comes to fluids.

For heavy track use and racing applications, we recommend stepping up to Motul’s 300V with Ester Core technology.
This SAE 5W-40 viscosity grade will allow excellent oil flow into a high performance engine at start-up and fast oil pressure establishment while guaranteeing high oil pressure and faster engine revving at higher temperatures.

When it comes to swapping cogs, look towards a 75W80 rated gear oil like MotylGear with Technosynthese technology.
This is a GL4 / MTF rated oil that is very similar in viscosity to 10W40 engine oil – perfectly suited to the Honda boxes which tend not to do well with thicker transmission oils.
