Hi all,

I am going to replace the rear shocks in my Euro and am looking at the options.

Honda have quoted 425 per side for the rears for OEM so I think I will pass on those.

I am looking for opinions on peoples experience with KYB, Pedders, Monroe etc.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

In this forum there are 2 class of shock absorber for the accord.

Performance orientated:
Koni yellow or Bilstein

OEM orientated:
KYB

In saying that, I'm sure Monroe or Peddlers will work also.

Koni FSD would be worth looking at, IMO. Yellows would be a more "sporty"option, but stillwork fine with the factory springs. FSD would give better ride and handling than OEM.

How does cost compare to OEM?I'm putting the car up for sale and just want to get the little issues sorted.

Sorry, I assumed you were keeping the car - hence suggesting FSDs which are top shelf. I haven't priced the FSDs recently, but I recently put Koni Sport (yellows) on the rear of my Golf GTI and they were ~high $200s each, from memory. Plus $100 fitting all up. So I expect FSDs would be somewhere between the yellows and Honda's OEM price.

However, if you are selling it just put some KYBs on - they will be similar quality to Honda OEM (which in fact could be KYB - they supply a lot of JDM) but probably a heap cheaper. If I were you I wouldn't inflict Monroes on the next owner ;-)

Can you please tell us your experience with the new kyb?
Where did you get yours, sounds cheap?

Just got them installed today.

Purchased the parts through sparesbox.com.au and had them installed at a local workshop for $200

I have only driven the car home from the workshop so can't really give a review
