I know there is a similiar thread but this is different, it started a little while ago, at first it showed all the signs of a dead battery, so i got a tester and the battery was close to its end (it was pretty old so there was nothing strange about this) replaced it and poped the new one in and now its still doing it  , u turn the key and it clicks, turn the key again still clicks, there is still power to lights, head unit etc.., then u turn the key the third or forth time and it'll start no probs, now it only happens sometimes but its annoying and i want to fix it so any suggestions on where to start? thanx :)

sounds like voltage drop. could be the starter relay.

starting the car takes the biggest draw out of the battery ( AFAIK) - so if the battery isnt at its peak then there is always a chance it wont be able to start.

How long did the car sit before trying to start it again etc?
did you constantly try to turn the car over ?

Possibly , the coil inside the distributor has burned out...*happened to me!*
Try to find if the engine is gettign spark , air and fuel ...

Tinkerbell or ECU man can help further (guys ?!?)

actually, i think this is a starter motor problem. the solenoid is click but not enough power it getting ot the starter to run it hard. My advice, take the starter out and remove the back plate and give her a good clean out. use some wd40 and clean all the contact surfaces.

the solenoid builds up with crap from the arcing on its contacts, also one contact gets worn more than the other and the plunger that stricked down on then doesnt make a good contact. I have fixed several Honda starter motors that have your symptoms for $0, takes about 30 min to 1 hour to fix, as long as your brushes are ok in the motor. also it will get worse over time if you dont have it fixed

As ECU-MAN said above. If its a fresh battery, the clicking noise is definitely the starter.
