Hey Everyone, long time lurker, first time poster, hope you can help!
I wont bore you with the details, but I was driving home from work, went past a haulage truck, rock/shrapnel/bolt flies off the top, hits my sunroof and cracks the whole thing, right now it's literally hanging by a thread (had to tape it together and close the door very carefully haha).
I've now had multiple exchanges with the haulage company, police etc and basically everyone is throwing their hands up...I had a lapse in my insurance (scold me all you want life is life...) so now my old company aren't keen on helping me either. So it's looking like my only solution is to just pay to get it fixed, so in that spirit;
I contacted a sunroof specialistin Perth, WA (there's basically 1), I got quoted was $1,250 to order the glass from eastern states and install...
Burswood Honda (our local Honda dealer) said $1,570 not including install...I also tried a couple other places/dealers and it was around $2,000 inc install.
The common factor was every place has to order the glass pane from over east because no one has it in WA...no wrecker here even has it..
My question is, does anyone know where I may be able to source this glass panel (wreckers, wholesale supplier etc) where I can order it direct, even if it's from over east? Then I may be able to find someone to insert and reseal the pane myself, whether that be at an actual place or someone I know personally who has a knowledge of Hondas (depending on how hard the job is)
Anyway any help you can give me is greatly appreciated, right now it's like I get to drive around my dream car except it doesn't have a roof haha, and if it's raining heavily I end up missing work too...
