Hi all,
Im the happy owner of a EG Civic with a D15B SOHC VTEC motor. I was wondering what kinda mods can be done to extract as much power as i can. Currently it has a cheapo Super cheap pod filter, with the standard rubber pippin and a cannon muffler tip ( which i found out last nyt, gets so hot it was glowin red with sparks flying out!!) Is that bad??? :D
I wanted to get a full exhaust with extractor, high flowed cat and thicker pippin' with perhaps a simota pod set up??? also maybe an aftermarket ECU and cam! Can you guys please help by tellin me what you've found go's best...
I live in sydney..
Thanks
Stroza D Dozza.
...O YEAH I 4GOT TOO MENTION I WANTED IT KEEP IT N/A...

Turbo charge that beast. Forget I/h/e on a small output engine, you'll make the most useable power with a T/C.
man, a nice intake with shield and stuff will be a good move, loose the cheap ass pod.
get header, 2.25 hi flow cat and also 2.25 twinloop.
then b16 throttle body, y8 intake manifold and then look at a cam/cam gear.
boosting is good also but can be exxy and cause insurance issues.

you said you wanted to upgrade your cheap pod to a simota....
the simota pods are one of the cheapest nasty pods available get something cleanable and not made out of old newspapers

thanxs man, I think the car was originally just a GL, but the person i bought it from did the front-cut conversion... Engine, gearbox dash and climate control have all been installed.. also i believe the guy installed the power windows.

k&n and bmc are a good start both being cleanable and about the same sort of performance/ price, around 90 to 130 bucks
then i would say apexi, blitz etc looking around 200 bucks
spoon filters bout 400 bucks (too much)
do some research i have found UNI filter to be good which is what i use awesome price and awesome performance, they are foam like the spoon ones and start from about 80 bucks to about 170

thanxs man...
The twin loop exhaust really looks gud.. there heaps quite aswell right?? would extractors and a high flow'd cat make them louder??? also what diameter pippin is best for the car?? 2inches, would it need to be mandrel bent or is press bent ok???
