How good are they vs stock?
Does it make shifting gears better/easier/more enjoyable. .?
I've read a lot of reviews but I want to hear from us aussies what you think.

I dunno, i've used one for 4 or so years, I still don't know if i like it lol
Good if you have a notchy box, will just slide right in from the momentum, maybe not he best for the box though, im not sure.
i prefer light plastic knobs so i can feel the synchros doing their work
skunk2 to has always been a cheap rip off brand to me too

I personally like it. I've tried a few different knobs, from light ones like the Carbing and Spoon Duracon, to OEM Type R and ranging up to the Circuit Hero ones (although you can get heavier), also in different contexts such as with/without extenders/short shifters. The current setup in my EK with a Buddyclub short shifter, CH extender and an OEM R knob feels pretty good even though the knob isn't that heavy in the grand scheme of things relative to the other weighted knobs out there. That said, I feel like it all comes down to personal preference and you won't know until you give it a go.

Hey,great responses guys,that helps a lot.
Yes u mad,I hear ya man.
dxs - my mate has the light plastic skunk2 one and yes you can feel the syncros doing their work. Not sure if I would like it for a daily...
My gearbox is starting to get a bit notchy..
Thanks austro, can I ask - do you need a bit of clearance, like how much between the shifter and exhaust on the ek?

I'm feeling OEM is a good middle ground. They do design things the way they are for a reason. The rubber absorbs/takes some vibration.
Does the weighted one absorb the vibration. .?

Short shifter is fine with exhaust clearance, although I had a Mugen catback installed already when I was putting the shifter in if that changes anything. I don't think the OEM knob would absorb that much vibration.... not like you notice it when you're shifting anyway.

Steel ones transfer heat from exhaust and hot day.

This is the only real down side. Otherwise its a good upgrade, I do prefer a heavier one when your smashing redline and changing gears fast.
