Do PODS have any effect on a cat-back exhaust at all.. perhaps tone/level out the sound etc? or factory box/POD make no difference?

pods will give you a deeper sound when stepping on the throttle

Alot of modifiers believe that Pods give extra power - but I believe in a lot of instances its just a mind thing - it makes a more throatier sound but thats probably about it.

Surprisingly my CRX doesn't make a throatier sound - it makes a whisling sound when on gas.. guess its the cone type pod i have.

on a stock car - stock intake is sufficient enough...

As far as performance is concerned a pod gives better response rather than more max power as such.

Depending on your pod setup, whether a Short Ram Intake or extended Cold Air Intake style, your throttle response and overall power will vary.

Many ppl are in the frame of mind that an exposed/heatshielded SRI setup affords the driver better throttle response initially. These include setups like "Pod on a Stick", J's racing "whale penis" intake etc.

At the huge cost of losing the "sweet sound of VTEC", most people tend to fit a drop in filter into their stock airboxes. This keeps your intake setup legal, simple and I've found it increased revability in the mid range. :)

For those who want a mad intake sound at WOT, do what you please.

i tried both b4....not a fan for pot filter......my conclusion is.....get the Cold Air intake to feed your stock air box and get the high flow filter in it~:D

LOL@whale ****... apparently the throttle response from those j's replicas are great. Ask Tony (luzinit).

Stealth, don't the BB6's have stock pod shaped filters? if so, just grab a Trust/K&N/Spoon aftermarket drop in replacement. :)

yeah I now realise.. the POD is the only way for vtec.. as I think panel filters or stock airboxes just dont cut it hehe... any suggestions on pod or cai?

when i put on my short ram intake i noticed i lost a bit of torque at low revs, but mid/high revs the intake is loud and notice car revs more free. the car now revs to red line quicker.
