I'm about to do an engine conversion with a Honda b16 or B18 into a mini, as part of this I'm looking to use a SiR EG6 speedo,

I want to now what feed into this and from where

I'd like to keep the mini loom and splice the Honda ECU and engine loom into it,

Is this possible or will I need some of the body loom to make it work ?

Or does the ECU connect to the body loom and has nothing to do with the engine loom

If anyone has any wiring diagrams then I'd love to see some also

Thanks

I am running a minitec obd1 conversion harness on my mini - it is directly to the ECU and has a small loom that runs off and goes to the cluster etc. So it can be done.
Just note to run it through a fuse box inline !

Hi Bennjamin, do you have any pics of your loom before you installed it ?

You really need to split the cluster loom into 3. ECU, engine loom and mini loom.
Engine- alternator, temp sensor, speed sensor etc,
ECU- Tacho, warning light etc
Mini- lights, fuel gauge, power, accessories etc

Thanks for the tip..

I was going to use the Honda loom for the engine, ECU and dash, and feed the Honda side with power from the accessories feed from the mini loom.. but that’s just theory at the moment.. I may end up running power from the engine fuse box

I think I’ve said what you just said basically

That can work if you are using the Honda ECU.
