Does the 04/05 Gen2 CRV have TIMING CHAIN ?

Hi guys,

Sold my 2004 (MY05) CRV Sport today, but one thing the guy who inspected it (who also seemed to inspect it thoroughly, and says he was a Honda mechanic *shrug*), said the timing belt needed changing.. 2x of them, an upper belt and a lower belt...

It was always my understanding, the GEN2 CRVs (2002>) came with a Timing Chain... is this correct or is the guy who inspected the car incorrect?

I thought they came with a K series engine in them and the gen 1 had a B-series - in which case the gen2 would have the timing chain and the earlier one would have had the timing belt.

Pretty sure it's a timing chain, not a belt. Are you sure he wasn't talking about the power steering and/or air-con belt?
