Ahh I remember seeing that thread. Its about time that ZC owners get their own cam gears instead of using make shift b-series ones. Nice post!

got any pics of how they cut the teeth in the cam gears or is it from a mould?

nar... cam gears are cnc machined out on the lathe.. like what u see on the first few pics.. just that they didnt show the process of how they make the teeth. They use smaller radius cutters for the gear teeth.

Cam Gears alone on a stock car (no cams) have been known to make between 4-9HP extra. thats not a bad mod considering you're modifying the cam timing of STOCK CAMS.

daymn... if I knew I could have paid for ya via paypal and you could have paid me back just by BankTransfer. did you want me to find out for ya if Chris (ZCresource dude) got anymore of them?

As far as i know it was a once off. But that would be great if you could. Currently need my head gasket replaced so i can do them at the same time seeing as there not too pricey!

I didn't realise there was anyone else from here going in for them!!

I got two sets, one for myself and one for a mate with a ZC Crx.
yes it was a once off but Chris said he MAY get extras just in case... so you could be lucky!
i'll find out for ya!

are you thinking about new cams and ecu to tune them to get the most out of them?

definatelly - thats at least the idea hehe.

Once the cam gears are here and hopefully installed and dialed in very soon after they arrive - I'll be out in the market for some Cams. I just need to find the right type of cam - right profile/lift/duration... its all in the research now.
and I have a Greddy Emanage on the way as well by the looks of it :)

Has the company producing these performed any durability tests?

SINISTR

Well i would believe that being a company who has years of experience in making cam gears, cams and other engine parts and accessories that they would have experience and know if something is strong or not stong.

I guess even the most guaranteed item has a chance of failing either at the beginning or at the end of its time.
