Hey guys. i have a dc5r, stock exhaust is like 2". but i was told that puting a 2.5" may make the sound droning and less high pitch vtec sounding. what do people think. i mean i want gains but i want it to sound good. not a tinee sound like u get when u have a stock exhaust with just a tip or a hole in the muffler. what exhaust do use have on ur dc5r and how does it sound? :honda:

Exhaust have been covered alot before, you can do searches...

but 2.5" is the way to go in my opinion if u keeping close to standard

I've found with Honda'z that the tinny sound is hard to avoid. Like my mate got a real good brand name exhaust system for sh!tload and his was tinny and sounded crap. Where as for me i got one done at a muffler shop and it sounded heaps better, can hardly notice the tinny sound. These were both the same cars btw, two teg vtir'z. When you get your exhaust done put on a resonator as well. it changes the note of the exhaust a lil and gives it a depper note. Well thats my experience anyway.

yeah thats right... adding resonator.. gives u a deeper note.. and more unlikely to produce a tinny sound at high revs...

I dont agree with you fanatk. 2.5" is way too big even for a dc5r. For starters there too loud and really will give ya the shits after a while. I rekon the biggest you should go would be 2.25"

what makes it too big?

DC5R? Far out go 3", 2.25" is the smallest I would go

2.5" only if the e/g has been modified.
Otherwise 2.25" is fine.
Been there, done that! ;) ;) ;)
