I finally got around to installing my second amp (for my splits) this arvo. Long story short ive gone from getting power to my mono block, to having no power to either amps.

Originally i had a 4g cable running from the battery to my mono. Today i put the 4g into the power distributor, then ran 2x 4g runs out of the distributor which i heard was ok to do.

So im guessing that my problem is either that;
- running 4g cable both in and out of the distributor is causing there to be no power to my amps (ie: get some 8g)

or
- my distributor is fooked.

Anyone help is appreciated.

Now there is no real polite way to say this so I'll just come right out with it. :(

With all due respect, if you have to ask those types of questions before you even get the power wire under control, then can I be so bold as to suggest you take it to a qualified installer before something is seriously damaged.

So let me get this right? U a running 4 gage wire from ur battery to a distributor block and having 2 4gage wires coming out of the distributor block??
Have u tested the power going out of the distributor block with a circuit tester??
You know that u need to earth the amp and also have a remote power cable goin to ur amp dont u ??
If u live in syd ill give u a hand i dont mind and if u dont pm for more help if u want!?
I had major trouble with installing my first amp it took me ages and i just mucked around with it ive dont heaps now so if theres a problem ive probably come across the littlest thing can stuff it up sometimes!

u have a fuse on the run from ur battery right? have u checked this fuse?

id be swapping the 4 gauge wires from the distro to 8's. Have you checked that ur remote wires are still connected?

What power ratings are the amps?
