yeah, I want to know too. What is the difference between a EF3 and a EF9 strut brace? I know cusco have different part numbers for the each brace, but whats the actual difference?

EF9 and EF8 strut bars have to sit higher than the EF3 due to the fact that the SiR engine bays are a different destign and the engine sits higher.

thanks pete, so what you're saying is that an EF8/9 strut will fit? it's just a little higher?
that does mean that the bonnet is different too?

Yeah - the big issue is that the EF8/9 have a convex bonnet whereas the EF Si's have a concave one with the cam cover hump. ED's are straight concave. I know that my EF9 Spoon brace just clears the convex bonnet - it could be an issue with the concave one.
so if was to put an EF8/9 strut bar on my EF3 it wouldn't fit because it stands too high?

That's my best guess - I know the EF3/ED6 one's wont fit in my EF9
i've been looking some EF9 bonnets compared to my EF3 one, and they look the same, concaved up. maybe EF3's came with SIR bonnets?

ill let you know soon, when I get my car back from the mechanics. I got a ED6, and I'm going to fit a EF9 strut brace on it. Ill see if it fits. I got a feeling though, that I might need to install some washers at the hinges, so it raises the back a bit.

A lot of the EF's were facelifted with the SiR bonnet and bumpers in '91. In particular, the XT25 was facelifted AFAIK
