I'm in the market for coilovers, something decent, but not to far fetched.
I'm looking for coilovers that is damper and height adjustable. What can you guys recommend for my EK4, considering I have around 1k to spend all up including fitting/tuning. I know that isnt much but I might be able to stretch the budget within reason.
Looking forward to your replies. Thanks, Paul.

are you looking to get 2nd hand for the coilovers for $1000???
and what is it going to be mainly used for???
cause $1k isn't much to spend with... for something decent brand new, ur looking at about $1500ish... ie Koni yellow with Eibach springs......
i could be wrong though...

yeah. especially including fitting and a balance. Fitting from shops can cost upward of $250.

yups. not gonna get u much. for 1k, its hard or maybe impossible to find something brand new and fully adjustable, not to mention including fitment. your best bet would be 2nd hand coilovers.

too bad ure in syd dude, n-1 distribution in melb quoted me $1000 height adjustables w preset damper coilovers FITTED, this is for eg sedan, but i think should be the same for ek. to be honest ive never heard of this brand before, its called n-1 or sumthing, but they claim these to be better than D2, apparently n-1 has their own factory down in taiwan

i saw the n1 suspension too. won't recommend them actually. won't recommend any taiwan suspension IMO. would rather take longer and save that bit more for something proven. but its up to you. if you do get the n1 suspension, tell us how it went. its always hard with so many new things on the market and sellers telling you that their stuff is the best. and especially if you've got a budget (like so many of us)good luck mate!

But I'm hoping to get a few track days whenever I can.
Thanks for the feedback.

yeah im in da situation same as CONAN ...someonne post me $1300 for cusco too.hehehe
koni make a good coilover but its NOT CHEAP
spring rate basicly means how hard the springs will be, sumone can probably put this better
but basicly the higher the spring rate the harder your ride would be
cusco are a reputable brand, but then again depends on the condition of coilovers. Better to save for the koni and eibach, and get it new, don't skimp on sumthing as important as your sussy's just to save 200 bux.

Thanks EG4,
Someone has offered me 1300 for cusco coilovers brand new.
but i think its the lower range of coilovers that they have to offer.
I might just get springs for now, until i find a decent set for a decent price.

$1300 for cusco coilover is cheap!!......u sure they are fully adjustable?!
Cusco and Koni are both reputable brands. but IMO, koni is mainly focusing on european market, and cusco is concentrating on japan market. for an ek4, i believe that cusco's setup is way better and more suitable for a jap made car. eg. considering the chassis...
for the suspension itself, comp-s is a street type coilover, F: 9K and R: 6K should provide a comfortable and a pretty firm handling on street. bit harder ride than dc2r stock suspension i think, good for street use. for the track use, it'll be a bit soft, but all depending on how hard u drive and what sort of tyres u use.
and i believe comp-s is only hight adjustable.
$1300 for a set of brand new comp-s is a fairly cheap deal to me. i'd get them if i have the same amount of budget as u.
however, $1500 for a set of full adjustable koni with eibach spring is a bit expensive. i got quoted $1200 for a set of koni yellow shocks with king spring 3 years ago.
cheers

In your opnion ? Ofcourse....one is european and the other is Japanese :p

KING springs being the lower quality obviously retail for a good $200 less - hence the difference in price.

i used KMAC or KING ( very similar ) with my koni yellows for a short time.
Ride = not so good....made my car low BUT the coils constantly touched and overall it wasnt a good experience. I suggest at a minimum - get whiteline FLATOUT springs ( about $250 a set) for a decent lowering and decent springs.

does anyone have an opinion on the pedders sportsryder height adjustably extremeX coil overs. I am looking to get a decent adjustable coil over and may be able to get these at a decent price but don't actually know if they are any good.
