AIM: To replace stock headunit to an aftermarket headunit

REQUIRED:

1. Small flathead
2. #2 Philips screwdriver

*STEP 1*

Remove two screws from under the headunit console. (Marked in the pic)

*STEP 2*

Using the small flathead driver, slowly and carefully pry apart the clock display to reveal a screw behind.

Undo that screw.

Unclip the harness to the clock and the hazard lights.

*STEP 3*

Using your fingers, slowly trace around the bottom of the console while pulling it up and out, then trace along to the top and slowly pulli it out.

*STEP 4*

Unclip the harness for the climate control. (Marked)

*STEP 5*

On each side of the headunit bracket, there are 2 screws. Undo them.

*STEP 6*

On each side of the headunit, there are 2 screws holding the headunit to the bracket. Undo them.

*STEP 7*

Unclip the harness and antennae from the rear of the headunit and cd stacker harness (if equipped with one).

*STEP 8*

Fit your aftermarket headunit to the stock harness.

Trace your steps back from Step 7 to Step 1.

Done.

nb. I have forgotten to take pics to illustrate the steps needed to install the aftermarket headunit I was installing. d'OH!
However, I will come back here and explain the wiring after I go back and take some more pics.
As I didn't buy a plug-n-play harness, I had to cut the stock wiring harness,spliced the wires and connected them up manually.


So, here's how the new aftermarket headunit (Kenwood) looks like after the install.

u can thank the low life scum that stole jimmy's car for the write up otherwise he wouldnt have needed to install another HU in the accord:o

I helped my mate install a headunit into her '00 Accord. Figured I might as well take this opportunity to do a write-up. :)
