Just wanted your thoughts on which is a better car all round?
Would the b18c beat the k20 coz its in a slightly smaller body or does the dc5-r have enough power to still rip the dc2-r?
Which would be better in a straight line? and
Which would be better in twisties? :honda:

i think you will get many opinion, depending on what driver likes.
the way the two cars drive and seating position and feeling are slightly different, so the car feels different to each driver.
the b18c seem slightly faster stock than k20 stock, but once modded, the k20 has more potential.

this may be a really stupid question but ive never been in a prelude vtir, but a dc2-r would smash a '2000' prelude vtir wouldnt it?

Short answer = yes, given the equal factors
but they are different cars, the Prelude is a nice car to cruise with the creature comforts, the dc2r, you get a engine and seats.

r we talking about JDM or AUDM models?

i'd have to say the JDM dc5r would have the edge overall over the dc2r...
more power... better breaks.. bigger rims... and a few other extras

Aus DC2R vs. Aus DC5R the DC5R is faster 0-100km/hr but the DC2R feels faster (and better all round if you like a sporty car). This is coming from someone who owned a DC5R and got so damn frustrated with it that he sold it for a DC2R.

I like dc2r more than dc5r before but i've changed. It seems like the dc2r has went to it's limits already, it's true that there are so many aftermarket parts avaliable for the dc2r but the trend is all aftermarket manufacturer are starting to develop the performance parts for dc5r cos the dc5r have more potentials

For example: Mugen EP3 (Same base and they develop EP3 rather than DC5) ?

Spoon Sport - Seems like they are aiming to develop the CL7,9

They don't bring out dc2r or ek9 to race anymore

one is a race car

one is a moderately powered "luxury" coupe.

Mmmm DC5R is more liveable for a daily driver.... DC2R is prob faster in stock form.... DC5R responds better to mod....... depends on what you want.....

Have a look in the FAQ thread in the stickies section dude.
I'm pretty sure you can get some, if not all, of your answers there.

on paper the dc5r is quicker but i have also driven a dc2r. the reason for the dc2r feeling quicker is because u sit lower in a dc2r and its a louder car. also the dc5r his slightly heavyer but and has more kw's. if u take the curb mass of both vehicle and divide it by its power you will get the kw's per kilogram then u will see. :honda:

dc2r beats the dc5r stock, for its a lighter car.
dc2r will definately beat a lude vtir stock, due to weight differences, and the fact taht the lude is a completely different category car to the Rs.

Not to cause any controversy but some of you are mis-informed....

Stock form, Australian models.....

DC2R is better and will beat DC5R in all 0-100 km/h, 0-400 m, and twisties/track.

Many tests have been done and even individual tests show on paper that what I say is a fact. Plain and simple.

on paper?? and what will we see if we divide kerb mass by power??

the ausdm R has exactly 6 more kw and is approximately 80kg heavier.

my question to you is how you define faster on paper?? the DC2R feels quicker because it is quicker.

JDM DC5R is a different kettle of fish.

Nothing personal... but forget about driver dependancy... we all know that already... this guy is asking in general... if driver is equal and the sun is the same and there are the same amount of rocks and twigs on the road...

Simple answer to his question... DC2R is the winner :)

Not really. The K20A with a hondata will eat a dc2r ;)

Have you started reading from the beginning?
If we start putting factors into this, then it will never end...
e.g. a K20 with Hondata will eat a stock B18C yes...
A turbo B18C will eat a k20 with Hondata yes...
etc...

I think the original post does not ask for any other factors such as mods...

No problem,
I guess I do use what I sell...

My car specs are as follows:
TODA Spec A's + springs & head gasket.
(Cams to be upgraded to iVtec race cams in future)
TODA lightweight flywheel & Exedy sports organic clutch
Hondata K-pro.
Injen CAI (Had a GruppeM but removed it in favour of the Injen - don't ask, someone's buying it tomorrow...lol)
Std exhaust system at mo... (Mugen twin loop is off until headers arrive)
Power output is 140kw @ wheels (Using Std header & std exhaust)
Mugen sports suspension
+ various other nick-nack here & there...
Best of all, I still get 500~600km per tank around town... ;)

Parts to be fitted in near future. (Some to come, some I'm too lazy to fit yet)
TODA header (on it's way) + S2000 cat
TODA 2.2L stroker kit (end of year)
TODA Fightex coilover (end of year)
Ported head @ same time as engine build
JDM intake manifold
JDM red rocker cover
JDM alloy suspension arms & swaybar
ATS lower final drive

Take my first advise.
If you still have questions after reading up, then start another thread or post in the appropriate thread, as this isn't going anywhere.
