View Full Version : Help Needed! Ctr Wing Install

hey guys
i guys, i just bought a ctr wing for my 98civic hatch, but the problem is that the holes on the wing donest match up with the holes on my car where the oem wing is attached. do i need to drill holes? is the rear of 96-98 ek different to the rear of 99-00 ek? all help appriciated :)

I would say it best to go see a panel beater if your not sure, as this is what they do for a living. I wouldn’t recommend drilling holes unless u really need to.

thanx for that panda, anyways, i realised that im actually missing the connecting/mounting part between the boot and the wing, gona go back today and ask for it, hehee

hehe, yeah... u need the plastic bit which the wing mounts on.

u'll need to remove the stock 'wing' that's on all the ek hatches. u should be able to access the nuts from the inside of the hatch under the black plastic. i fink it's held in by clips, but dun quote me on that :D

thanx ek9, yeh, went to the shop today and they said they forgot to send it?? so yeh, they'll probably get it in one weeks time, but if something happens, does any1 noe if i can just buy the plastic bit by itself? and for how much? im melbourne based

if you have the oem spolier the bolts are usually attached to baseplate and all you need is the 4 matching nuts which can reuse from you last ek spolier.

and yes on the oem ek9 baseplate there is one clip, but you can't get the clip at your local honda, because it is not a stock item off a local civic...how important the clip is to you, i won't know, it is there for a purpose - it might not be a biggies for most, but it has it purpose:)
