I've done a search and looked just about everywhere, but no one seems to have any information regarding this. Is it possible to put a D17 into a EK1?? I've heard u can fit D17 cranks in D16s, but I want the whole D17 engine. Im wanting to do this conversion as I haven't heard of it being done yet, plus it'll be different to all the mini-me and B-series conversions. Thanks

The D17 is out a a 2001+ Honda Civic
D17A1 is non-VTEC and D17A2 is VTEC - E

Power output is not much compared to the D16, but i'm wanting one of these engines as it'd be different to do a conversion like this!!

If you wanna be different, do the swap then turbo it :D

it fits in the current hatch and is a D series, I can't see why it wouldn't fit?

dude the money involved in doing the conversion is not worth it at all. the power gain is like 5kw or somethin stupid like that. spend the money you woulda used on the conversion for more hardcore turbo set up or dont do either and get yourself a K20A or somethin similar

its not as simple as just dropping it in just because its D series. engine layout different. the basic orientation is different. not sure if you have noticed but most of the newly released hondas - civics, integras, jazz have the exhaust ports facing the firewall and the intake facing the front. so its opposite. dont know but i suspect the transmission layout is also different. the new civics have completely different chassis. so basically, the labour to do such a swap may be similar to that of a K20 swap.
it would be cheaper to put in a B18C7:thumbsup:

dont waste ur money just ot be different man... if u want to be diff...and u dont mind spenidng money to be diff... i suggest sr20det : )
power output on both the 7th gen GLi & EK cxi/Gli r pretty much identical.. 88kw... only difference i think is that the 7th gens r LEV's...
its good to be different... but ... well i dun really see the logic behind swapping in the D17A1...
but its ur money.. spend it how u like :)
