Spoon race N1... They race what they sell & sell what they race…
For those who don't know, N1 is stock car racing...
Much like the Australian production car series...
The mythical Spoon Sports B18 you're talking about is nothing more than a hand built, stock engine... As such, 12,000rpm is not an option let alone possible...

i was reading Japanese Cars Banzai magazine issue 21, the article is called SPOON-FED. It said "Spoon quotes 230PS (227bhp) for its P72, an incredible specific output of almost 142bhp per litre."

some of the spoon stuffs are acutally the same oem items.
Spoon pistons= oem JDM spec piston. Howver it is being balanced by spoon so that each piston weigh the same.

Spoon rings= oem rings
Spoon valve springs = oem valve springs

Not all spoon parts are worth buying.... they are good but overhype... :)

honda parts are excellent stuffs...what they do for eg. with the pistons is to make it even better.

If OEM honda parts arent up to scracth, all of us would not be in this forum :)

we are here becoz we luv honda

Exactly, a JDM ITR exhaust and intake manifold along with some ek9 cams can give healthy gains on a b16a2. Obviously you'd need the valvesprings and that too, but still good gains to be had from honda parts. 8)

Last time I checked prices, AU$8-15,00 for all of the spoon engines... That included delivery, and taxes etc.

many SR20 and RB26DETT engines get shipped out of Perth to the JUN factory in Japan for exactly that.
