hey all, there was a used 6 speed euro in a car yard today, i took it for a test drive, really nice well balanced car to drive, very smooth and comfortable.

The only negative aspect of it is that is lacking in power, i thought it would go really well by what other members opinions of them are.

dont get me wrong, they go fairly well but i actually thought it would go alot better than i thought.

the car is question had 30000km on it and i got to test drive it by myself so there wasnt a salesman to tell me to slow down lol.

My 94 accord with JDM h22a, carback and K&N CAI.. good for a low 6 second 0-100 time.

it was 6 speed manual...trust me i gave it all it had, could have been owned by an old person and not properly run in though.

Well if the Euro came to Australia as an Euro R... It's stock form will be on par with your car dude... :P

Its hardly a comparison. Why not compare a accord at the moment to a euro. No contest either...

not making excuses... but my euro is pretty temperamental - having the aircon on is a big hinderance to power and so are atmospheric conditions etc. On a cold dry day it comes alive.

Low 6 seconds is quick. Euro is more high 7s but depends on the model. I know that the Euro 6mt is faster to 100kph than the BA Falcon XR6 auto (non turbo) and the new Commodore auto with 190kw. I think that isn't too shabby for a 4 cylinder n/a.

my car will do 0-100 quicker than a manual or auto xr6 turbo.

i have friends with both and we lined them up. They have to wait for boost and then play catch up.

Believe it - it is a much lighter body than the Euro.

h22a - the Euro is actually quite linear in power delivery with a flat torque curve - it is deceptive in that way. It is easy to be going faster than you realise - has happened to me quite a few times.

agreed and because it is so quiet and refined you dont realise just how quick you are accelerating

I believe h22a accord.

143kw + good torque from the 2.2ltr + 1200kg car = low 14 sec car
H22A engine accord can beat a Euro anyday man!

The H22A is a better engine than the K24A, period.

What the Euro needs is the K20 engine from the Type-R, then it's back to even grounds ;)

I personally prefer the K24A which gives a bit more torque over the K20 which would give me more kW.

But hey.. i'd take the K20 if given to me.. sweet sweet redline :D

Whats this h22a accord u speak of? 0-100 6 seconds for a honda with 2.2 litre engine...... i must say thats one quik honda, that would take on a wrx and give it a bit pf a run. If you want quik car get a second hand s2000

Well, having owned Prelude before, I disagree.
K24A is a lot more refined and has way more torque down low, but the power is still very much similar to H22A.
I don't feel that my Euro is much slower compared to the Prelude, probably more so because my prelude was auto and my Euro is a manual.

With Prelude however, the lack of torque down low was very noticeable while Euro pulls away in 5th gear doing 40km/h.

I disagree, the K24 has so much potential whereas the h22 is already pretty highly strung from factory as a comparison.

I would take the K24.
