Some HU's don't read CD-R's at all. I'm really surprised an Alpine HU doesn't!

Yeh, have you tried a friend's CD-Rs?
Maybe it is your burning software?

Which model is this?

This is strange, a good H/U doesn't play CD-R's
You should check your manual or box because it usually says on there what they play!

PM FHRX, he can help you!

What CD format are you burning?

Are you copying music cds straight off , Cause new cds arent as easy to copy you need certain programs...

Or are you burning them off from mp3s if so you might of not set options to close the cd and set it to no multisession....

Yeah.. i've got an apline HU and it plays everything / every type of cd fine.

I don't have anything as fancy as yours, it's the base model one with blue lights that plays mp3's.. RRP around $570. mine hasn't even skipped. :P

i agree with ah789454, take it back.. that's not right..

I am pretty sure I saw that unit for sale on CAA. IT is an older unit if I remember correctly, and it is well known that with some older decks even made by reputable companies like Alpine etc do not read cd-r's or if they do, they are VERY fussy about burn speed media etc. The honda cd player supplied in my parents CR-V is VERY VERY fussy and most of the time I just give up and stick an original in.
