View Full Version : Difference Between Integra Type S and Euro Engine

Ok this is obviously a total n00b question but what is the actual differences between these cars? Obviously the Euro is heavier and hence slower.

But as far as i can tell this is the specs for the engines

Integra Type S = 2.0L Inline Four Cylinder i-Vtec = 154kW / 194Nm

Euro = 2.4L Inline 4-cyl 4 i-Vtec = 140kW / 223Nm

Why the discrepancy? Also does anyone have some comparative 0-100 times or quartermiles? Im curious as to how much difference this makes

Stock Type S should be able to do low to mid 7 sec to 100km/h low to mid 15 1/4 mile.

ive seen a stock type S do 15.1 at WSID.. he only had one run and it was his first time on the track
so a good driver will be able to get it a bit quicker

Yeah very much depends on the driver. I for one is crap at launching a car.

So ok the weight makes a difference definately in the times. Why the difference in power but? Better Induction or Exhaust? Different timing?

Same bottom block. different head.

K20 got higher compressions than our K24 donk.

Differece in induction chamber too, different fuel mapping & timing.

K24 has alot of potential, very held back from stock.

Yeah that was what i was getting at, shouldnt we be able to with simple mods be able to easily get the power, just heavy on weight. Also, bigger engine we should be able to get BETTA power, or am I missing the point.

yep definitely has a bit of potential. It just hasn't been tuned and setup as agressively as the k20

2 make good power in 4 cyl engines u need a motor that wil rev high & produce power at those revs. Think compresion, head design ( ports, valves, valve springs, cams) intake (plenum,t/body, intake pipe, filter) exhaust (header, cat, pipe, muffler) and most importantly ECU. Euro donk not designd 2 woop ass like type s teg. Power costs money- teg dearer than euro. Just like audm f22b 2.2 litre vtec in stock 1996 cd5 accord makes 107kw & stock 1996 model jdm h22a 2.2 litre dohc makes 149kw
