Front speaker install in EK hatch

Hi everyone,

Does anyone happen to know how to install 6.5" splits into the doors?
I've search the forumbut cant find any specific information for my 1997 Civic...

I want to do minimal custom work with my 6.5" Type-X splits. Magnet is quiet huge and also the X-overs!

So have any done this themselves, or know of any online DIY articles to shred some light?

Any input is appreciated.

hahaha, someone asked the same question some time ago, and i also referred EK9's DIY thread... its a great resource!!

it can be done!!... and is worth being done!!

looks like wat i did with mine... expand the holes...

You mean the metal? Nope. Door skin? Nope.
I only cut the plastic basket to allow more room for the speaker magnet and drilled in a pair of spacers to the existing holes.

Now I'm gonna work out how to lay the speaker cable through to the doors... :(

was the drilling through and wiring the interior to put the tweeters in hard?
how big was the size of the drill bit you used?

Part 2... layed speaker cable wif Tony a few days ago... wot a pain in the a$$!!!!!

I'll let him expand on this matter... oh btw, who wants to do mine? Cos i seriously can't be bothered after doin his, LOL ;) He know's wot i mean... haha.
