i had a look on the UK Jazz spec, and they et an optional subwoofer. would this work with our Jazz?

i know its performance wont be great... but for a couple of hundred it would be ok just to give that little bit extra bass.

i am sorry if this has been covered....but i couldn't find it anywhere

i thought the sub is an accessory and not standard in UK, so we don't have a down graded car. we just are not being offered more choice.

however i doubt that sub is particularly good for the price Honda will charge so not a big deal anyway.

if u want similar stuff, i think Sony or Clarion have similar products.

btw i'm going to fit one of these soon:

that power tube looks neat...

yeah the sub is 150pounds (uk) its just that if it is a simple plug and play unit would be sweet... save having to upgrade headunit etc...

nothing in car audio is as simple as plug and play......

well u can still use the existing head unit (which i'm going to). u'll just need to split a signal from it. or if u're really keen, u can get some HU with RCA out.

as i'm not chasing big db or SQ, this setup is ok as i can't afford to lose boot space. in fact i think the factory speakers aren't too bad and i just want a little more bass.

But there probably isn't that too big of a difference. I haven't driven an i-Dsi 1.3L jazz yet, but I would assume it isn't too big of a difference.

Back on track, as for the sub woofer: I think normal boxes will still fit ok since the jazz boot is rather spacious. However, I would love to see whether these slim line versions are effective. Quality wise I am not too stingent on. Car sound quality isn't just based upon the sub, but heaps of other factors - sound deadening, speakers, whether its sound proof etc etc.

is the a Jazz UK board i can go ask these questions too..

if their Jazz comes with a subwoofer accessory i want to know if either all their cars come wired up read for it... or if they run it of the AUX...

i dont think in the UK, if you bought a jazz and then said you wanted the subwoofer, they would have to wire it. i reckon theirs would simply plug in.

its only a couple of $$ and if it works without hassle in out Jazz,i would get one.

They offer that sub for the CRV in the USA. Its just plug and play and goes under the front passenger seat

did he use a converter?

did he use a converter?

nop.

i just run mine off speaker cables since i'm running it off the factory HU (n hence no RCA out).

u'll need both L & R and i took the signal off the rear speakers from the harness behind the HU as u'll need to run a trigger cable for the amp anyway.

Dreams

so u run an amp? from L&R speaker cables? and what is a trigger cable? u mean remote cable?

yeah man, u'll need an amp to run the sub. mine is one of those tube so it's integrated with the sub.

signal from RL & RR speaker cables but i got them out from the connector at the back of HU. Trigger = remote.
