Hey people!

Can anyone help me out and point to me where I can service my Honda Civic. I called a couple of authorized Honda workshops and they quoted me around $650 for a freakin 80,000 km service! :x

Thanks heaps :o

You havnt taken your car to a Honda dealer before have ya? :D

Thats pretty normal price actually. I just had a 160,000km service on my old 4th gen Prelude a few weeks ago, and it put me back about $800.

I had my 4th gen lude from 35,000Kms to 160,000Kms and got it serviced every 10,000Kms at a Honda dealer. I think I can safely say the ranges of costs were approx $350 to $1300.

Take your car to Honda to be serviced and expect to pay more than usual :) I have a new 2001 5th gen Lude now, so it will be interesting to see how that compares in cost :)

Cheers

Yep good point about them doing stuff for free if they stuff up. I had something that happened due to something else being fixed and they replaced it with no charge :)

I should also mention sorry that my prices etc were for a Prelude, not Civic. But I would imagine them to be fairly similar. Also they will call you if they need to do anything major or replace anything major :)

Thanks for the input peeps,

I'll get the thing serviced ASAP

Man how I wish I knew more about cars so I could do the servicing myself AND SAVE UP FOR MODS!!!!

Can anyone recommend any good mechanics that are "resonably price" and "trust worthy" in the Eastern Suburb of Melbourne.

-much appreciated

I take my civic to N1 in Clayton. They do an alright job, but it does cost $$$'s. Then again, they use motul and other leading brands for the service.

Hey godzhitman, where is this N1 place you were talking about? and how much would an 80,000 km service cost do you think? I've called up UltraTune and they gave me a quote of $570 for a full service "by the book" but the cheapest they can give me is $450...

I know a guy who did my EK Civic for the 80,000km job a couple of months ago, he is located on Bell St. almost opposite Courtney and Patterson Honda Heidelberg. He did it for me for just over $400 - he thought it was expensive so he rang up Honda to check and he said they do it for over $600 - so you'd be saving $200 and I trust the guy and have not had any probs with it - actually really noticed a difference after he serviced it - much better drive now. PM me if you want to know his number and stuff.

Check this thread (http://www.ozhonda.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=450&highlight=cheltenham)
Basically in Melbourne people would recommend ART, BMT, and a lot of people are recommending bay road these days, I guess where you live would make a big difference on where you take your car.

I only use Adrian from Razz Tech Performance for all my car needs and for all my Honda Clients with Hondata
Razz Tech have the fastest Honda’s in Victoria ;) so that’s enough for me !

They specialize in setting up Honda's for Racing and track days, as well as high specified tuning, Adrian leads razz tech and his father enzo used to be a f1 mcalrin engineering / mechanic so there racing skills are well unreal !
