I was told that Snobmacher was forced out of the race with 2 tyre punctures...

Maybe Jase or someone who knows abit more about the regs can fill me in, but how does that allow them to retire the car? Shouldnt they have to change tyres and go back out there?

Changed one.... Second blew just after pit exit by the time he drove a lap to get back to the pits the front sussy was damaged so they retired the car

Plus, a team can retire their car any time they want they, don't need a reason.

I think from him pushing so hard that both left hand side tyres just couldn't handle it, the amount of pressure it looked like it was giving them was amazing.

Most corners were right handers.
Pornstar - I got the race on tape if you are interested to watch it?

From my understanding, the team gives the tyre stright over the to FIA and both of them check it for any punctures, if there isn't and they just changed the tyre because they had no grip I got no idea what the penaulty would be.

My question is because my mate told me a few things, one, the left rear was changed, then the next lap, the left front was punctured or something.

Contrary to what Hondavirgin jsut said, there must be a reason for retirement, ie so that the loophole that bar exposed at the first race of the season doesnt get played again.

So if there was no damage to the suspension, they would be infringing the rules. If there was then, perfectly legal.

Im jsut sore about BAR, because i think ferrari get special treatment, im going for the kill :)

I'm sure that the 2nd puncture did damage the front left suspension and thats why he retired.

Also, if the tyre is punctured you can change it and continue to race can't you?
I'm sure you can...

yup, thats what i mean jase, if its punctured, ud replace and race.

so the suspension HAD to have been damaged for a legal retirement? or maybe I got the rules mixed up?

He still has to use the engine twice if that is what you are asking about? They can only retire the engine if there is sufficient proof now (after what BAR did).

I think that is the problem, or loop-hole, in the rules at the moment. If you aren't going to finish in the points and you're engine still has to run a further round, then retire and you get to run a fresh engine next round....or have I missed something and have they fixed that one up now?

*edit* Javed seems to have answered me

That said, with the specific incident last night, Schumey had to drive an entire lap with the front left-hand side of the car dragging on the road. There was bound to be some type of damage.

I wonder if he ran over something which punctured both tyres. Maybe the front was a slow leak and they didn't realise. He was giving them a lot of stick, but by the way everyone was flying at the end, seemed the track didn't eat the tyres too much.
