Yes u DON'T paint the reflector part. U only paint the sorounding outside bits as seen in my Avatar (Or u can also paint the indicator part aswell like apexi, just personal choice on that one).

AS for brightness it DOES NOT affect lighting at nite wat so ever. I cut the prongs that surround the bulb and it is even more brighter than before....

i have a '98....so the lights are a lil diff from the above pic....but i noticed no difference in lighting (except that my lights are all over the place bc i adjusted them when trying to take the globes out!)

EG is not hard to do...it is the same....u just probably didn't heat it up enough for the glue to melt...

thanks for the replies guys.

which prongs do you cut on the bulb and does it affect how long the bulb will last?

sorry about the confusion...i thought the reflector part everyone was talking about is the chrome surround (thought the surround relfects the light from the bulb to make it brighter too)

If you look onto the bulb right now there is something which covers it right? You can cut that off if you want...

Light in this case will disperse more to the sides and in my opinion it is much brighter, but I am sure some people will say that it affects the brightness.

Just my $0.02......
