sounds like it is co-incidental (think its spelled right) that it is happening, there should be no reason why the whale penis intake should have that effect, it sounds as if the problem is elsewhere

it has more of a chance of being a result of his car being attacked by a couch the other day =P

i had the same problem on my dc2 vtir with a cheap 5" intake.
sounded really good but the vibration on the throttle pedal drove me insane. Hence why I removed it.
shit, my copy in cf is shit hot too.
oh well good luck man

problem is guys - that the big phat intake isnt held firm enough - so at these RPM's and above ofcourse the intake will shake.
Try to hold the thing down with better or heavy duty mounts - and the problem should be rectified.

the problem lies in the INSTALLATION itself. The throttle cable is gettign caught somewhere - or the throttle butterfly has excess carbon buildup - did you guys re-attach the cam cover piping ? ( you need it !)

The G/F's EK4 has one of these intakes installed. There is a resonance/vibration that occurs on WOT at around 2500 and ends at around 3000 rpm.
It seems to boom in the cabin, but as for vibration on the accel pedal, none what so ever.
BTW.... it is not bolted down with a bracket... jsut supported by the rubber reducer and clamps. Seems secure enough.

^ I agree.
The cheap solution would be to use tie wraps to secure the intake. That'll keep you out of trouble until you save up enough money for a decent mounting kit.
