Hey dudes.. got a 94 VTi-S Auto, and i wanna swap it to a manual... right now im looking at whether to convert it or just sell its and buy a manual.
Who has done a manual conversion on their car... exactly what parts were required (other than the obvious gearbox and pedals) and roughly how much did it cost? Would anyone recommend it?
Cheers

yeah true lol but look at it properly before buying another one i guess
Generally, manual conversion costs start from 2000.
I reckon if you can find a good 2nd hand or reconditioned manual gearbox and parts needed, I don't see why it won't function as a normal manual car. Of course, the workmanship would have to be reputable too.
I say, sell the car and find a manual car. :)

nah dont want an auto.. only got it cuz i lost my licence and i speed less in auto's :) (do wanna turbo it though)
basically ive got a mechanic who can do it for 1grand.. i was more after personal veiws from people who have had it done
auto + turbo = busted auto :)
1k is reasonable, if your mechanic knows his stuff you shouldnt have any issues. Just make sure he will warranty the conversion ;)

Ive converted a auto car to manual before its not that hard at all, but get urself a HD clutch and maybe lighten flywheel and if u can afford it get crossed gears from 1st to 3rd

From what I can gather these gears are cut in a special way and are way better for racing and can take more punisment than normal gears
