sorry just a quick one, i searched around but everyone is talking about vti's or gli's none for vti-r's, which one would be better 2" or 2 1/4" all the way through (i.e headers, hi-flow cat and cat back). Is the performance difference the same as the sohc engines or would it be different for the dohc?
thanks :D

most common size for cat back would be 2 1/4 inch.
i went for a 2 1/2 inch and its not too bad.
2 inch is too small for the B16a me thinks

i think this has been covered before,
but u'll see that most people will recommend 2 1/4 inch, as it is an all round performer..

5" all the way !!

nar sorry, my recommendation would be 2 1/4", so would most exhaust shops.
Maybe u can get some japanese brand sizes, cant go wrong there.
i.e trust, toda, mugen
i wouldnt get any bigger than 2 1/4 as any bigger is just waaay too loud.

sorry 2 jack ur thread but do any good brand name headers come wit a 2 1/4" collector? i kno spoon/mugen/toda all come wit 2 1/2" collector, meaning its prob best to run 2 1/2" all the way thru, if running these manifolds that is

so is 2 1/4" still good for everyday driving with the vti-r's? or do you lose a bit down low?
also what hkcivic said does anyone know the stock exhaust size for the vti-r's?

You've driven my car Quang, did it feel like it had less power than yours down low?

stock exhaust size for EK4 (i've measured myself)...
this is going to sound weird but from cat to the final "bend" its 2 inches... but after the bend to the muffler its around 1.85inches

2 1/4" is the best imo...
