hey i was just wondering if n e 1 has had exp. putting a system into a CD Accord? cos atm i got a Pioneer headunit + i changed the front speakers to Sony Explod 3 way 6", left the two rear stock and a 12" 1200watt sony explod sub in the boot... the sub is using the std sony box.... the sub is hooked up to a V12 amp.... my system doesnt sound all too good.. sounds good when the vol is low.. but when its a lil louder doesnt sound great lolz... what parts so i change to make it sound better? i dont want to spend too much.. just give me opinion.. thanks

make sure u got the negative from the amp - negative to the sub and same with the positive. should sound very good unless its distorting. change the rear speakers
hmm... ive done a bit of work over the last couple of weeks with my sound system, im currently running
Boston Rallys from Hertz 2 channel
Boston Pro 12" from US Tech
Panasonic headunit and im going to deaden the doors tomorrow. No rear speakers.
Its sounding very good and ive still go to tune it. But if anyone successfully rewired their front speakers i would like to know how the hell it is possible?!?! I ended up tapping into the stock wiring because i decided it was impossible to run extra wire through the existing door harness and tube but i would love it if someone could prove me wrong...
what parts so i change to make it sound better?
Whats wrong with it? be more specific.... lacking bass, midbass, poor sq, not loud enough etc.

hey, bol i dont know if ur doors are the same as the 92 accord. but the doors are a mungril the front passenger is easy compared to the drives. i put the wire through the stok plastic wire tube thingy and on the drivers i actualy had to drill new hols on the door and put grommits on the cable. was an absoulte pain in the ass
hmm.... i MIGHT have to resort to that, but who knows if i am losing any sq through 2m or so of stock wire.
I suppose you would have to take the door off to do drill?
I've only tried the drivers though...

don't really think that with your current system using the factory door wiring will make much difference ( on a more high end system you would need to run better speaker wire with better speakers )

tell us what you don't like about the sytem...
assuming your alpine v12 amp is 4 channel this is how i would run it :
one pair of channels to front speakers ( I'd replace them with a nice set of splits)
bridge the rear channels to the amp - should provide enough power to a single 12
personally I'd forget the rear speakers (but if you must use them - replace the factory crap with something a bit better and just run them off the speaker level outputs off the headunit)
this usually gives a nice well balanced system - plenty of noise up front (from amplified splits) and some bass blended in from the back .... remember when setting the "gain" dial on an amp - "gain" is NOT a volume control , you use it to match line voltages from deck to amplifier - don't just turn it way up . at a good volume level on the deck turn the gain up till speakers distort and then back it off a bit ... only a rough way to set gain levels but might help if yours are up too high
see the link in my signature for some accord stereo photos
So how did you do it Bill? Or are you using stock wiring as well?

I cheated and spliced into the door speaker wiring (I should have used good wire but I was lazy :o ) one day I will drill holes and do it properly(with grommets and sleeving of course)
:D
Yeah, i think i've decided not to bother... there's some noice coming through my speakers at the moment which is unrelated so i am never going to have perfect sound so there's not much point drilling into the door.
