Hey guys i'm trying to remove the back seats from my EK1 but i seem to be having troubles :(

I can take out the bottom of the seat (where your butt sits on) but the backrest (what you lean against) i cant seem to take it off .. it seems to be stuck down to some kind of rod looking thing .. has anyone done this before? how do yo uget the backrest of the backseat out ! :(

Theres little clips on the rod that stop the back rests from moving sfrom side to side (left to right). pull the little clips off then slide the seats to the side and they come off easy as pie.

Are you after reducing weight in the car or covering rear seats with seat covers?

Do you really notice much of a difference (weight-speed) without the seats in?

from stock to toally gutted yeah, u notice when ur at WOT high revs car feels quicker, couldnt say like 10% or anthing tho.

also better for fuel economy.

i rocked gutted for a while then put it all back in and it felt so slow, like a frickin whale.

no only does it make u quicker, also pads an discs last longer and so do tyres

but now im totally gutted and its stayin that way

i have always wanted to do this...then i could get fixed buckets no worries... hmmm....tempted.

honestly EG interior isn't that heavy in any case... i'd be advocating replacing the rear hatch with sth CF...that things weighs a tonne... but this weekend i am going to give it a go at stripping the rear interior.

 egsi

You have to get a certification certificate to change your car from a 5 seater to a 2

putting in a serous sound system will make the strip pointless, as the hugh magnets on subs weight heaps:thumbdwn:. not to mention the amps used to power them.

wouldn't you only need a cert if you were looking to put fixed back seats in there legally?
