I am wondering if anyone here knows or has found a good way to make heat shields? Want to know things like material used and best application of it..

Or if its worth it in the first place.. ;)

if you have a pod located in your engine bay, a heat shield wont do much at all....its still sucking in the hot air!

You shoud:

a) convert to a CAI

b) make a custom (air tight) airbox with a cold air feed from the front of the car

c) revert back to stock airbox setup with aftermarket filter

cheers.

sorry to take this off topic, but I am looking for heat shield to wrap around my extractors....

Anyone know where I can get something that fits the description?

I've used heat wrap before and found that it dies after a while.

Civiccoupe: best to build a custom box to surround your pod, don't bother with just a shield.

If you're constantly in traffic it will affect you (pod in engine bay)

But if you're cruising, you won't notice much difference between an unexposed pod and stock air box..
