h3 bulbs are mostly used in driving/fog lights - not usually in headlights

size ? - stick to a 55 watt bulb for headlights (using bigger wattage can possibly cause damage to reflectors/headlight lenses over time and sometimes factory wiring can't handle the extra current needed for higher wattage bulbs
I sell thousands of bulbs every year and have seen what bigger wattage bulbs can do over time ...

if you want better light use the white/blue bulbs or "plus 50" types (various brands)
they give more light for same heat and current draw

if you want really good light , convert to a high intensity dischage setup (hid)
hideously expensive but gas discharge lights are the best lights on the planet...

if you are thinking of spending $140 on a pair of headlight bulbs (bloody hell thats a lot of money for bulbs) save up a few hundred more and buy a HID conversion kit (I think some of the traders on here sell em - but most auto stores can get em as well) I use plain old narva "arctic blue" bulbs in the high/low beam ( gives a white light - very good to see roadsigns with) and i use narva plus 50 in the highbeam (don't use them much) I think they are about $40 retail for the lot - not as good as HID (but good enough for city driving)
