Welcome NIKE_23

Good choice.. Black VTi-S.. nice!

Waiting for a month for it is reasonable i guess, cause i know alot of people who have waiting longer for their new cars.

Or you could just wait and get an ex-demo car.

I also ordered black VTiS manual two weeks ago in Melbourne. The guy told me the estimate time of delivery is the end of this month. Currently the car is still on the boat...

I had to wait 9 weeks to get my VTIS in vivid blue a couple of years ago. Man was I pissed! But it was worth the wait :)

1 month is nothing in comparision

Do dealers ship the car directly from Japan after an order? I thought they just get a transfer from another dealer within Australia.

well, u shouldve found out when u PAY for the car. wether ur car is actually IN STOCK or not. i dont know the real story of ur situation. But, if the situation when the guy said, ok now ur car is in stock and be ready in the next week. and after a week the guy called back, nah sorry the car needs to be shipped. thats not acceptable!.

congrats on the purchase

Anyway, 1 month is a resonable time to wait for a new car.
Similar to many people here, I waited for 3 weeks as well.

I think black and white are the two most popular colours.... so 1 month wait is quite normal...... :)

My Silver Vti-S was a cancelled order (bcos the lady who bought it couldnt get a loan approved) so I bought it and picked it up within a week. Back then, there were about 6/7 Vti-S left in NSW otherwise there was a three month wait due to the ship not arriving yet. This was in March 2003. Rick Damelian Honda in Sydney had 4 Vti-S in stock and were NOT willing to discount at all, saying due to no supply and lots of demand, they would not even reduce by $5.

So I was desperate to get one, so I rang all the dealer in Sydney, and lucky I found this car @ Tynans, so I bought and picked it up. They told me, I can save $600 if I wait 3months for new shipment, but I didnt want, so I paid the extra and drive away within a week.

1month is what they will tell you the first time....

If you're unlucky like me, they'll keep telling you, "Oh sorry, next week".

Ended up taking over 2months to get my car. I was certainly not impressed at the time.

I rather pay the $600 instead of waiting for 3 months.....
All the excitment about getting a new car will be gone after 3 months I reckon.

By the way, how much did you pay for ur vti-s nike??

Despite my wait was way overdue but i was happy to get a 05built jazz.

Initially, i was suppose to get a jazz built in the late 04 and 05 compliant plate.

Since it was delayed so long, i guess they have no more late 04 built jazz.

I noticed the dealers at rick dal honda can be quite sneaky and i'm pretty sure it's not because they lack the knowledge but to play around with the customers. Initially they showed me a jazz which he claimed to be built in 05 and so he showed me by lifting the bonnet and pointing at a plate mentioned something 2005 stuck on the right side . Then i pointed to him at a plate near the radiator and it clearly said "Built in Sept 2004".

With situations like this, the dealer doesn't look much face as all he could say, 'oh sorry, my mistake, yes it is built in 2004'.

The wait can be normal if the car you after is not in stock or available at another dealer...

I wouldn't worry about it too much at all.

Welcome to the wonderful world of the Jazz by the way!

Poeter

That's quite a good deal, considering Honda's seat covers cost 250 for the pair.

I paid 22.5k for carpet and window visors.

i picked mine up yesterday... only a 1.5 week wait.

it obviously appears that your getting your cars in the next shipment... i dont know why this is? seems maybe your dealer didn't order enough cars initially. i spoke to my dealer about it... they were quite surprised at how long some of you had to wait.

after having mine for 2 days though i am having lots of fun... the build quality of it is much better then any or my previous cars, is a real good little package.

That's great to hear Judge. I felt the same way when i first got into my jazz.

In fact, you can get auto vti-s for as low as 24.5k.

Initially I was considering to get auto because i didn't know how to drive manual at the time.

But chose manual because 24.5k is a bit too much for a 1.5L hatch. So went with manual because it'll save me 2k and it's fun.
