View Full Version : Euro - Color's
Ive been reading in some threads, and it appears that your interior color choices are limited to what your exterior color is. is this correct ? and if so, why ?
eg: black exterior cannot get black interior (eg: leather seats)

yes
thats just how honda did it

Yeap that is true...
Ivory interior only comes with black, white and maroon red colour euro's (Don't know if the red comes with ivory colours because they ditched the maroon colour for 05 models)...
All other colours of euro's come with the black interior...
U can't request what colour interior u want.. Its predetermined by Honda...
yes correct.
black n white get the cream coloured interior, the rest get black.
you could of went to the honda AU site n found out for urself instead of starting a new thread

Milano Red has a black interior - the main reason i got it.
Yeah its sucky, but deal with it

can't really win, black or ivory interior
either one they'll both get dirty and it'll annoy you anyways.
I have black, and you'd think that'll be clean - HAH

my main question was WHY, i allready knew that the color's were pre-determined, as i stated in my 1st post.

We don't make the cars... Honda does.. We are the customers and users... So i guess u should ask Honda that question...
I can only think of its cheaper that way for honda...

It makes it easier for the production line. If they had to give the consumer the choice of interior colour, then their cost and efficiency would be halved. And you know the Japanese crave efficiency!

Yeah I saw one in the show room, luxury model with 17" wheels...very nice!
but I still couldn't go past the euro in black (even if it meant that I had to live with the cream colored interior).. :)

I think they get to choose their interior colours in Japan and US. Just Australia doesnt allow. Heres to keeping costs down.
aaronng
17-05-2005, 01:34 PM
In US, they also follow the same colour combinations as what we get...
I liked the black, but I didn't like the cream interior as I like to wear dark coloured jeans. Definitely would stain the seats, like what happened to my friend's IS200. SO I went for ABP instead.
Edit: Oops, I stand corrected. US gets a choice, it's Canada that has the same combos as us.

Correct aaronng, the TSX has a choice of colour combo's. It also comes with Sat Nav and other luxury options not available in Oz.
I think it goes with the whole Acura image though. Acura is marketed as a more upmarket brand in the US (the Accord V6 is still a Honda over there), Acura competes with the likes of BMW, Audi and Mercedes on a more even level than over here because Americans rate their cars so highly...
Can you imagine a Ford Fairlane or Holden Caprice being given the same street credibility as a BMW 5 Series or Mercedes E-Class in Australia? I think not, but over there, Acura, Cadillac, Infiniti (Nissan) are all up there in the prestige segment and offer the same plethora of options that the German marques do.
my main question was WHY, i allready knew that the color's were pre-determined, as i stated in my 1st post.

i got to say it didnt bother me with the colour combos.......it was either satin silver or graphite pearl for me which both had black interiors (which i wanted) and i settled on silver. worked out good really......btw imo milano red just doesnt suit that car like all the other colours do
but they first paint the shell of the car, and then put the seats in right? so is it really that hard to put in the black seats ? or does it involve some automated process that is very complex? ah well...

I work in the Functions/ Events Industry...
Just imagine this...
U have a function for like 300 ppl and u have to serve steaks. Usually the Chef would cook all 300 steaks medium-well.. If all 300 ppl asked for rare, medium, Medium-Well, Well done steaks the Chefs would be so pissed off... It takes so much more time and is such a inconvinence to the chef... This will cause delays and the flow is disturbed....
This applies to the Accord Euro.. Its better to predetermine what the colour combinations are by the maker. If not it would be more time consuming and a major inconvinience to the maker.
Yes maybe Honda could suggest offering different Interior Combinations but then Honda wanted to make the Euro value for money. & by letting the customer choose the colour of the interior my friend, would mean the customer paying more money for the euro...

I got a Milano Red Euro with the black interior and I wouldn't have it any other way. I reckon the ivory interior was too pale to suit the red. Never liked the ivory interior anyways, the tacky lookin', fake woodgrain turned me off

its the same deal with the CRV also. It is to save costs. I guess they could offer black only but they want to be a bit more upmarket and have ivory like BMWs and Mercs.
Having fixed colours also speeds up the delivery of the cars.

Funny that - the velour ivory after a few years looks anything but upmarket. It usually looks worn and dirty in my experience.

I think it looks great when new - I just know it would be hard to keep looking good. I hate to imagine what dirty shoes would do to the back of one of those ivory velour seats. Children would absolutely kill that interior.

Agree with you. It will work out cheaper and more efficient in production line if they have predetermined colour combo. I think most of Japanese car company do this for Aust market. Some Euro car makers however eg. Mini allow buyer to choose their combo, ie, colour, roof and mirrow colour, wheel colour, strips on bonnet, pattern on roof, interior ..etc . it means more labour ($)involved, more waiting time for delivery.
Same goes for BMW. there are so many different colour of leather available, even just for grey leather, they are different depth/tone of grey available.
but i would say most buyers just settle with whatever colour the dealer pre-ordered from BMW, unless a buyer specifically want certain colour combo and doesn't mind wait for 2+ months.

Not as bad as the bluish-fake-marble look!! either way, honda screwed up bigtime with both the luxury panel finishes...

I originally wanted black with black leather, but a lot of people commented on how well the ivory interior suits the black. It certainly has grown on me. Luckily there are no little kids in my family to mess up the interior. My rear seats still smell like new, haha.
I think white is another great colour, but most people are put off by the white on white combo.

i totally agree with albii. that solid electric red is an econocar colour- not even metallic/pearl. i would actually prefer the old ruby red to milano red.
i saw a Mercedes-Benz SL500 in the same colour as Milano Red- and it looked absolutely hideous!!

yeah i totally agree, i saw an SL55 with that dull red/brown color. why would you spend $300,000 + on a Merc, only to get it in the most hideous color available ?
(im not too hot on my color combo's tho, as im slightly color blind :P )

I disagree having purchased a milano red euro i often get many comments on to how good it looks and how good the color is.
My brother who works at a honda dealership drives many euros he and most of those who see these cars every day love the milano red colour.
It looks like shit in the photos but the milano red looks so much better in person.

Everyone have their own taste.
I actually quite like the milano Red when I saw one in the show room, it gives you the racing feel. If you plan to do some mods to the appearance eg, skirt, body kits, spoiler etc, then the milano red will difinetely stands out among the crowd.
There must be enough demands for Honda to introduce milano red to 2005 Aust market. Honda is not dumb, marketing department must have done some homework defore they make the decision.

Also remeber that Milano Red only lasted for one year in North America before they pulled it from the market.
lol Honda Australia marketing....Australian consumers are stooges and will buy whatever we say is good for them. Being an engineer makes me a cynic and of course marketing always frustrates me. Just look at any dilbert cartoon ;)

I reckon all the colours on the Euro look alright, except for Royal Ruby Red and Indigo Blue Pearl (both gone now). I personally think silver is the most boring colour, and exclusive to boring people, but hey, that's just me. Don't love it, yet don't hate it. Black, Artic Blue, and White are my favourites.

When I was speaking with them they said they had a person I think in Sydney and Melbourne, but don't trade under the name Modicoat, you could always send the stuff up here, of email them and ask if they have someone in Sydney so you can see the stuff...
