Hey guys; what the hell is that engine mod that keeps coming up in ebay. Its a resistor that affects the air flow or something?

Has anyone done this yet? Wont this damage our euros?

Don't ever go for the MOD CHIP... Not in any cars! :D

It's like overclocking your PC, it makes your car "think" that it is supposed to run at a certain mixture, Very bad... Won't touch this with a 10KM Pole! LOL!

MOD CHIP it nothing like OC a PC sorry to say, I’ve been OC for over 5 years and my systems rock and what’s more I’ve never killed one to date

Overclocking on the most part is buys parts you know were made to run faster than there stock speed and are only running at slower speeds to save on production and have been cut down

Now Mod chips turn up all the stuff on your car without taking into account what parts or mods you have thus I think it would be quite easy to do damage to your engine

So programmable ECU’s are the way to go from what I’ve read coze the tuner tuners for your engine and its mods

Anyone can correct me if I’m wrong (on the Mod chip not the PC OC)

most of the mod chips simply trick the car into thinking that the air going in is colder(and as such denser, requiring more fuel)...


so you end up running rich... whole lot of help that does

Sorry if I was blunt, I've OC PCs too and have yet to blow anything except running hotter, I was just trying to explain simply in theory in relation to what the mod chip does and it's the same, forcing the CPU to run faster than it's intended purpose, same with the Mod Chip which forces the ECU to think and work the way it should in order to gain power.. I don't mean to say OC is bad, I meant to say the MC is bad..

Maybe I shouldn't have used OC as an example but it was just that which came into my mind at that moment...

My point was, you can take steps to protect your PC when OC but you can't do the same with a MC as they have Fixed setting

Yeah MC are bad that’s for sure plus the not much cheaper the programmable ECU and in some case's like the unichip more

You can get a basic Hondata for about $350 - $400 and the stupid unichip is over $600 BAH crap
PM BLKCRX and ask him what he thinks of MC’s lol
