check your compliance plate- it will have the proper date on it (ie, completed and delivered to a showroom).

my car has a chassis build date of 8/94, but its aus compliance plate says it is 4/95 (last of the EG series!)

The build date is on the radiator support brace, and the compliance plate I think has to be mounted onto the firewall.

it doesnt matter "when" it was built, when u sell the car, on ur rego, etc its when u first registrate the car... my ek4 was biult in 96 but its a 97 car... : )

what i mean is if u can all of a sudden find a 1965 Mini Cooper thats never been registered, then on the rego its a 2005 mimi cooper
