Is the water pump in the dc2r belt driven??

It is driven via the timing belt.

Also what if ur water pump is leaking slowly? Do u have to put a new water pump in or is it just anew gasket in it?

Its better to change the waterpump as well. If its about the same time to do your timing belt.....might as well get that too.

When it leaks I guarantee you it’s not the gasket, infact they use an O ring style gasket. The seal in the pump bearing fails and leaks through the bleed hole.

Its best practice to change the timing belt at the same time.
people say it but you dont have to change the water pump every time you do a timming belt. its a bit of an overkill. Besides its majorly hard work to do water pump

Hmmm i have one of those davies electric water pumps lying around and was thinking of installing it in the type R....

DC2 use a belt for cam timming, external to the engine, it also drives the water pump.
