hey guys the brakes on my ek4 feel really weird... they still stop the car, but it "feels wrong" like the pedal is too loose or like "dough"

my brake pads on all 4 corners are pretty new, and my brake fluid is still clear.....any ideas?

btw if my car is idling, and i step on the brakes, should i be able to observe the calipers pressing the pads against the discs? or isnt it someting that cna be seen with the naked eye?

im pretty sure you cant see them pinch the disc
as its nearly touching it as it is.
it sounds like there is an air lock in your brake system, meaning within the hydraulic setup there is air in the brake fluid somewhere in the brakelines which makes the brakes more compressable which isnt good

the normal way to fix this is to bleed the brakes.. i think there is a sticky for this in the technical section, if you are confident enough otherwise just go to a brake specialist who will do it quicker and easier as they have hoists and they shouldnt charge much prolly about 50 bucks depending on what fluid you use

Hey **Ghost**,

Maybe it is your cars way of telling you that it wants a big brake upgrade :D .

like garret said
lil airbubbles in the brake lines.
bleed the brakes and it'll make your brake pads feel heaps better
and use DOT5 brake fluid

Yup. Possibly air in the system. IS the master cylinder resevoir tight ? ( IE not loose) ?
Invest in a couple of canisters of fresh OEM brake fluid and a good brake bleed/refil - shoudl do wonders :)

get back to us if problem still exists !
