we thought of that, out of his budget lol. Plus what ive been told is that if he wants to put a fuel injected engine in,he has to do some big work, i know this contradicts my original post, but i was told just then. Is this true, can ne one please help with the easiest most affordable way to make his car go over 100km lol cos at the moment it stops at 80. hint hint james/danny/sentata/toda/ the rest of yas. :)

Put the Honda City Turbo engine in it! It's supposed to fit in very easily, so I have heard.

Speak to the people at www.cityturbo.com as they have several members that have done it.

Where are you located?

My friend has a gen 2 CRX engine in good condition, he just chucked it in not long ago before he wrote off his car lol...

Anyways its teh DOHC NON VTEC !.6 engine (D16yx ??)

prob sell it for like 600 or so , he has all the wiring and brakes and stuff if you want to buy those as well, as he doesn't care much for the car now .

So you should get some good bargains .

Hello DAnny, honda_fan etc ? Wake up ? d16y8 ? vti SOHC engine ? Hmm....

Mate - all i can say is - d16a8. ( ZC equivilent - DOHC 1.6 , 96kw stock )
It would fit in nicely, and is a nice lil engine. You can pick up one for quite a decent price nowdays - and there are many "go fast" bits still availible...

this motor would fit nicely, and has a bit of go, considering how small your car is.

The engine in there is an EN1 or EN2. What you can do is shave the head, run 73 or 74mm pistons (it currently has 72mm) and drop in a warm cam - a Mugen R1 if you can find it. Get a set of '74 RS1200 twin-carbs and a set of headers plus 1 3/4 inch exhaust and it will fly. Another option is using 73mm Honda Goldwing pistons to bump the compression.

You can also drop in the EN1 from the '84 civic although this will require custom mounts but they are a good starting point.

Personally? I'd chuck it and get a '78 Civic instead - the 2nd gen's suspension is nowhere as good as the firsts - but the EN and gearbox will replace the 1st gens EB with a minor change to the top mount.

City Turbo is viable as is a late model SOHC VTEC engine - the latter with mount mods though. I'd go the VTEC as parts are more plentiful.
