View Full Version : Spotted cards?

I was recently looking at a US car forum and noticed that someone had developed these 'cards' in a word document that you could cut out and leave under peoples windscreen wipers. Said something along the lines of 'You have been spotted by OzHonda member ........' and then had some information about the site and how to get online and look at it.

Just thought that it might be a good idea as I often see cars parked on the street that are done up and dont see the drivers. Plus I am never sure if they post/are a member here.

What do you guys think?

all we need to do is write one up, then make it a download on the net..
then people just need to print it off, the voila !
but would be much easier if they were flyers rather than cards

Actually flyers would probably be even better - then there is no need for cutting and you can just leave them in your glove box of your car.

All it really needs to have is something like:

-Website address of the site.
-Some details of the site - ie car enthusiastes.
-Who you have been spotted by.
-Maybe some sort of graphic (ie the OzHonda graphic)
-Some fancy fonts???
-Please come and visit catchphrase.

Just need to tell people not to print it on an inkjet printer as if it rains the ink runs :) .

You could do that :D but then you need a piece of paper and a pen (think of all the effort :D ).

I don't want to get junk mail; but I still get it. LOL -- Paper rather than cardboard, and recycled ONLY.

I like the pickles man, i eat all of em!!

As for the flyers, i heard that it was actually a slight legal implication with that idea...as its unwanted advertising/spam?
Im very vague with the whole issue, and ive jst heard this off someone whos probably heard it off someone else, hence the stories changed from its real meaning haha.

I dont think we need this cause its causes people to touch other peoples cars.

I know i wouldnt like it considering my 8 year old gets in trouble for touching the car when there is no need to.

Plus if the idea really took off you couldnt leave your nice car anywhere without people always approaching it and i dont think thats a good idea.

For that, you get 3

I reckon it's nice but not everyone will appreciate spam on their windscreen. I don't like those party flyers because I know someone has touched my baby.

personally i think it's a good idea the card thing, have been thinking about doing it myself for awhile.
somtimes even wished we had like a business card i could hand to people that i saw driving a nice honda, just walk up to them say g'day mate that's one nice ride, take alook at this site somtime you might find some helpfull stuff there.

actaully did a similiar thing and the local milk bar the other day except he wrote the addy down instead of me giving him a card.

anyways, would the mods and administaion have any problems with me making up some ozhonda sort of business cards and giving them to other honda owners? (don't wanna upsett the family)

somthing like this maybe?

cards are a good idea if you plan on handing it to the other person.
so many people cant remember the addy if you just tell them, at least with a card they have an exact address to go to.
id hate it if it was just shoved under my wipers though.

Nice comments, guys very helpfull and informative, just what we need to make the site grow, muture and become respected as a leading knowledge base and community for honda owners.

keep up the great work, and i'm sure you will get the respect and acknowlegde ment you deserve for you well thought out and constructive posts. So happy to see that you are coming up with ways to to improve this outstanding site and communitie, with members like you how could be never become a place where people just come to spam and make pointless comments.

P.S, I agree that honda Enthusiasest the member, was prone to causeing problems, and making dumb threads and posts, but it would seem you 2 and not far behind him. The Cards above was not ment to be connected to him in anyway, just and idea of what could be done.

On a Serious note, i would of been gratefull if some-one had of given me a card with ozhonda detials on it when i first got my car.

Just keep a blank piece of paper in your car with the letters "www.ozhonda.com' written on it. Word of mouth is a good way for OH to spread :)
