at aaronngs request..........yes zymol is top end stuff and it does give great results just ask chris f , baboo, matell, pnr888 and they will tell you as they have seen my car in the flesh......people think its pricey and thats fair enough but one tub of wax lasts me about 5 years of once a month waxing on 2 cars...

Indeed, Albii's car is so shinney, we all needed sunglasses to protect our eyes that day. Click on my signiture link below, you will see photo of all Albii's Zymol products.

Albii, if you wash and wax your car that often, you can actually get a dark colour car, and it will shine your effort even more.

zymol definitely gets results after seeing the sheen in albii's paint-work. it's very nice. I'm gona chip in with dad and get some sometime soon. he's got a beemer and just uses whatever can find (armoral and similar brands) and to be honest his paint is looking pretty crap. albii you thought of becoming a distributor for zymol in australia? (i'm not sure what profession your in) but i think you could make the product work, especially with your hands on knowledge :D

I should've use Zymol when I had the chance, it's god damn smooth the hails would just slide off the car instead of bouncing and hitting on my car....>.<

Sadly I don't think the many layers on albii's car would've saved it from dents last night :(

besides zymol, i would reconmmend a product called Zaino, they have benn know as the best detail products in the States for years and only started to sell in Oz couple weeks ago i think. but the bad thing is this stuff is much more expensive than the zymol for sure. but every complete detailing the layers will last at least 4 months... so very worthwhile to try out.
Check out the distributor's website!
http://www.eclipsedetailing.com.au/

for ppl in MELB. there's a detail place you can get Zaino... it at the handcar wash called magic clean (kleen?) on hoddle St north bound!
i am very happy with my result! no water drops at all

I reckon Zaino is cheaper than Zymol. You only need the Z2 and ZFX. The only troublesome part is that your car has to be uber clean of everything, including previous waxes and polishes.

total agree, in Zaino's website it said use dishwash detergent to firstly wash your car to remove excessive waxes and dirts...

well, to get the best result out of the Zaino,, or any other products is to follow the product flow instructions ...

think they have a new one called Z8... very confusing...

So what particular products from Zymol do you recommend and where can I grab or order these stuff??

Cos my black Euro is getting harder and harder to maintain it's shine, now that I've had to for around 1.5 years.

Actually, for older cars, the shine is lesss not because your wax is not good enough. It's because the surface has contamination from the environment that an optical barrier between you and the paint is developed.

I recommend you wash, clay, use paint cleaner, polish and then wax in order to restore the original "brand new" look. It won't be easy, you'll develop huge arm muscles.

problem is there is no quick fix.........yes as aaronng said you need to do the full strip clay polish then wax treatment.......if you dont wash and wax on a regular occasion then it is very hard...but if you wash once a week and wax once a month your paint will stay fantastic looking

yes and no....the only reason you have contamination is because a: your wax is not good enough or b: you dont wax enough to create a barrier against harmful contaminants.....thing is ,when a bird shits on my car it doesn't leave s stain and it washes off easy...

aaronng
21-05-2005, 04:55 PM
The contamination I'm talking about is like brake dust and tiny particles from the road (smaller than a grain-sized sand). Stuff that actually is hard enough to actually penetrate the wax layer through brute force.

I agree, if you have a good wax, bird shit just washes off easily!

You can get autosol from any hardware shop. It is used to polish metal. It's not a car-only product. Get the regular one, not the special silver or gold versions. Those are too mild.

if u want a cheaper method, the soap steel wool pads under your kitchen sink work well. Also, aluminium cleaner will clean ur entire exhaust from header to muffler tip...u simply spray it on and use a pressure washer to rinse off, rinsing off all the burnt on road grime with it

you can order zymol off the net, as for zymol, i have almost as many products in the zymol range as does albii and been using it for 5 years now and will say that nothing comes anymore natural and close for a quality shine, it's a brilliant product! i'm not as enthusiastic as albii with cleaning giving it the monthly wash and wax but once done it's as if your standing in front of a mirror. also, i haven't polished my car with the zymol polish for over a year and it looks like it was done a few months ago (they recommend you polish every 6 months)

Are we allowed to wax bumpers, light covers, and chrome stuff with normal wax, for example meguiar's nxt tech wax? coz i usually wax them all.

i've heard from a detailing shop that there is Swissol brand, which they said is the best wax, but expensive, does anyone know about this wax?

I haven't used it. But you can probably find reviews at www.autopia.org. I'll PM you a link to a site where you can buy it from.

Edit: Just checked the prices. $105 for a small 200ml tin of wax?!?! Damn, even if it is good, it can't be $105 good. Unless of course your car will self-destruct without the brilliant shine and depth. I'm sticking to my P21s.

For black plastic bumpers, I use 303 protectant (I get it from autobarn), while the lights I just use NXT tech wax. Chrome stuff I haven't tried waxing them.
