Help Please!!! Engine light on!

My friends B16A VTEC gets the engine light on when he revs it hard over 7000rpm.
It doesn't happen every time but every now and then.
Once this happens it seems the engine goes back to the primary cam lobe.

The errors are 08 and 22
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Check ur oil pressure/level. Take the vtec solenoid off and give it a clean out. TDC sounds like a sensor int he dizzy.. i dunno though. honda';s dont have CAS so i dont know what detects TDC..

Oil level is fine.
Oil pressure, it is around 4 bar and stays there til about 7000rpm when it rockets to 8 bar in an instant. Does that seem normal???

his dizzy could be on the way out

the bearing in it could be shitting it self, or the sensor has a crack on it, inducing noise. ( this happens at High RPM ) and the MIL trips. The TDC still pumnps out the signal, just with interfearance on it. if the TDC was screwed you will get the MIL light up every time.
you need an ociliscope to test for this.

as for Code 22, sensor could be faulty, wiring or blockage. also low oil like WEQ says above.
