hey guyz,
Just washed my engine bay with engine degreaser. Sprayed inside with degreaser and left it for 10 min and hosed it off. i covered the Dizzy and Pod filter. driving for about 30 min the engine is fine. turned it off and turned it on and drove for 10 min and still fine. stopped the engine and then turn it on and it starts to sound like WRX muffler. sounds like its choking :( or something and its losing power as well. Engine shakes when idling. What could be the problem how can i fix this????
thanks in advance for advice

check to see if all four cylinders are firing...happened to me before...one of the injectors wasnt working.

hahaha, you got moisture or water in your distrubutor, or down the spark plug bores.
take the dizzy cap off and blow out the dizzy and cap with compresses air, do the same down the spark plug bores

hehe, time for u to change spark plugs. unplug ur spark plug wires, then u will see wat i mean.
ur running on less then 4 cylinders.
start the engine.
pull each spark plug lead out, one at a time, and put it back
listen for the engine note to change
if it doesnt change when u pull the lead, u know that cylinder is the problem..
best guess, water in the spark plug hole, shorting the spark out.
just pull it out and let it dry.

yeah thanks alot guys, i pulled out spark plugs and it was a bit wet(lead and the spark plug itself) in one of them, i cleaned the spark plug lead and spark plug, hope that the only problem.
should i replace the spark plugs once it has been wet or is it still okay? because i pulled out each lead one at a time and they all seem to work

So wat happens if u get a few drops into the cylinder??
Will it just evaporate off?

lol.. u would wish and hope it evaporates..
last thing anyone wants is water anywhere inside their engine

if you got water into the combustion chamber, the engine would burn it up along with the air/fuel mixture as along as it wasnt a large quantity of water, or you would get hydro lock
if it went into the sump, it would blend in with the oil, large amounts of water or coolant in oil make the oil go foamy when pumped through the oil pump.
both the above are very dificult to do just by washing your engine bay

issert ok to hight presure hose ya engine bay eve when there those power cord every where would the water damage it coz i whant to clen my engine too
I find it's best to wash your engine bay with the engine idling...less chance for water to get in...

Spray WD40 at the points of possible entry before washing your engine bay.
